Leading online casino and sportsbook Intertops.com has revealed that its services were temporarily disrupted due to the effects of Hurricane Earl passing over its Antigua home at the weekend.

The category three storm began battering the Caribbean’s Leeward Islands over the weekend before reaching Antigua on Sunday destroying homes and dumping at least five inches of rain with winds gusting to over 120 miles per hour.

Intertops.com is now back up and running but the site has warned customers that they may ‘experience a few hiccups which will be ironed out as soon as possible’.

Tottenham Hotspur will need to overturn a 3-2 first leg deficit against Swiss side Young Boys if they are to progress to the group stage of this season’s Champions League. Ben Roethlisberger made his pre-season debut against the New York Giants in hopes of getting plenty of reps before he is sidelined for the beginning of the 2010 NFL season. His replacement will be either Byron Leftwich or Dennis Dixon, two players that combined to lead the team to three touchdown drives.

The Giants had a huge victory over their rival New York Jets in their first game of the pre-season, but fell short by a score of 24-17 against the Steelers. British Columbia’s controversial online casino is back up and running. At 7:00 PM last night, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation’s PlayNow.com website was re-launched, giving players in the Canadian province the first opportunity in more than a month to play their favorite casino games online.

Finland’s government may need to batten down the hatches for an imminent media and advertising storm generated by its attempts to establish an online poker monopoly. The Finns started manoeuvring on the issue at the beginning of 2010, when the government released its plan to open a state-run internet poker room along the lines of the lucrative Svenska Spel and Danske Spil models, now the subject of EC-prompted liberalisation.

The Cincinnati Bengals still have a lot of kinks to work out of their new high-powered offense ahead of the 2010 NFL season. They will try to work those bugs out Sunday evening at home against the Denver Broncos.

The Bengals finished last season at the top of the AFC North division last season with a 10-6 record, and a perfect conference record of 6-0. They suffered a disappointing loss in the wild-card round of the playoffs to the New York Jets. It was a season of adversity for the team as the tsunami in American Samoa affected many players, and their injured wide receiver Chris Henry lost his life after a domestic dispute.
