Blotter: Harrah’s puts Caesars Palace online
Last week, the world’s largest live casino operator — Harrah’s Entertainment – made Caesars Palace one of the first major live brands to go online. While Caesars Palace Casino Online (as the site is aptly named) is not Harrah’s first foray into the world of online gambling, it’s easily their most serious endeavor to date.
Unfortunately, because of the continued battle over UIGEA regulations U.S. players cannot even view the site. They and their similarly restricted German counterparts are instead redirected to a list of Caesars’ live venues. Other international players are privy to quite the experience, though. The site operates off of groundbreaking Dragonfish software (a B2B faction of the 888 umbrella) and features a design that is strikingly similar to Caesars’ many brick and mortar casinos.
Rumor has it that as soon as online regulations pass, the site is already prepared to open its virtual doors to U.S. players, putting Harrah’s in an ideal position to dominate the new (or rather newly legal) American market.
