Tottenham favoured for Champions League progress – Online Casino News
Tottenham Hotspur will need to overturn a 3-2 first leg deficit against Swiss side Young Boys if they are to progress to the group stage of this season’s Champions League. Bookmakers have plenty of faith in the north London side though making them odds on favourites to emerge victorious on the night.
Spurs, making their first appearance in Europe’s premier club competition since 1962, were 3-0 down in the first half of the opening leg in Berne but a spirited fightback with goals from Bassong and Pavlyuchenko saw them bring the deficit down to a single goal. Betfred, Victor Chandler, BlueSq, Stan James and 888Sport all have the Londoners at 1/4 to win tonight. Slightly longer are bet365, Totesport, Boylesport, PaddyPower, Coral, Eurosportbet, William Hill and Extrabet at 2/9. SkyBet, SportingBet, Bwin, Bodog and Ladbrokes have Spurs, who won at Stoke over the weekend at 1/5. On the exchanges Betfair, WBX and Betdaq all have Harry Redknapp’s men at 4/17.
After a shaky start to the domestic season the Young Boys win last week took many by surprise but bookmakers aren’t expecting a repeat performance. Stan James, BlueSq and 888Sport have a Young Boys win in 90 minutes at 9/1 with bet365, SkyBet, BetFred, SportingBet and Bodog at 10/1. Slightly longer are Eurosportbet, Coral and Extrabet at 11/1. Young Boys beat FC Zurich over the weekend but the win hasn’t impressed Totesport, Boylesport, Victor Chandler, Paddy Power, Ladbrokes and William Hill who all rate the Swiss side a 12/1 shot. The exchanges are even longer with WBX showing 14/1, Betfair 15/1 and Betdaq 16/1.
A draw would see the Swiss side progress through to the Champions League group stages, a possibility rated at 11/2 by Ladbrokes and bet365. Other firms rate the chances of a draw at 4/1 and 9/2.
